Challenge participants: Ambassadors of the cause for several months

Of all the fundraisers that exist, the Leucan Shaved Head Challenge is without a doubt the one with the strongest link to the cause it supports and requiring the most courage from participants. The action you took will transform you into an ambassador for the cause for several months, and to support you in this new role, Leucan developed tools to help you to share your new look with your network.

Tips on managing regrowth

It’s inevitable: your hair will grow back! If a few weeks or months after shaving you need advice on how to manage regrowth, you’re not alone!

Be sure to join the Leucan Shaved Head Challenge Current and Past Participants Facebook Group to benefit from a multitude of tips and shares on this ticklish subject.

Marilyn, a Facebook group member, was able to ask a question to other Challenge veterans and found several answers:

“How does it grow for you? For me, I’ve had the sides shaved a few times to let the top grow longer.”

Here are some other examples of questions and answers that might help you.

What helps style short hair?

“I used to put in a drop or two of argan oil to moisturize my scalp.”

– Catherine

“I use my son’s pomade!”

– Josée

How can I protect my scalp from the sun?

“For sun protection I don’t mind putting sunscreen directly on my head, it’s not like I’m afraid of getting greasy hair!”

– Lily

“For protection, I wear a hat or a bandana. I don’t like the greasy feeling of the cream running down my face with perspiration.”

– Mélanie

What to use to wash shaved hair and scalp?

“I used to wash with the same soap I use for my body!”

– Paméla

“Shampoo. And even a conditioner for the scalp because I had dry skin.”

– Caroline

Thinking of avoiding regrowth by keeping your hair shaved? Many have done it!

“I keep it short! As I said to a friend, ‘I’ve invested a fortune in a hairdresser, and it’s by wanting to help others that I’ve found the head that suits me’.”

– Caroline
