On Sunday, April 7, the ten outstanding women of Les Audacieuses had their hair shaved off and unveiled the $250,000 raised in support of the Association, which provides services to children with cancer and their families.

A powerful message

The Audacieuses ladies are challenging society’s perception of beauty by proving to all that hair shouldn’t define femininity. Their aim is to send a powerful message to other Quebec women of all ages: that their beauty lies in their strength and solidarity, not in their hair.

“This campaign is a dual challenge that goes beyond raising funds . . . these women have committed themselves wholeheartedly by agreeing to shave off their hair in solidarity with children fighting cancer”

– Juli Meilleur, Executive Director of Leucan.

A gratifying response to the Leucan Shaved Head Challenge, presented by Proxim

Since the first cohort four years ago, the participation rate of women in the Leucan Shaved Head Challenge has almost reached parity with that of men. This is thanks to Les Audacieuses, a solidarity movement that brings together outstanding women from diverse backgrounds to inspire a wave of generosity across Quebec.
