In 2015, at the age of 11, I took on the Leucan Shaved Head Challenge for the first time. I raised $1,000 to help create a magical Christmas for affected children.
In 2019, just shy of my 15th birthday, I was diagnosed myself with medulloblastoma: a very aggressive cancer of the cerebellum with metastases. I faced the battle with trust and courage. I underwent a surgery, 30 intensive radiation therapy sessions, and 8 months of chemotherapy. I suffered a hair loss twice.
Now in remission for more than a year, I decided to sign up once more and to act as spokesperson for the Challenge in the Laurentides-Lanaudière region.
I know firsthand the difference Leucan makes in the lives of families coping with this ordeal. My hope is that one day, research, supported by your donations, will lead to a cure for all cancer-stricken children.
