In addition to being a volunteer at various activities organized by Leucan Mauricie et Centre-du-Québec, Louis Giroux has taken on the Leucan Shaved Head Challenge 17 times! This kind-hearted man sure knows all about loyalty and generosity.
“My brother died from leukemia at the age of 52. At the time, I was volunteering occasionally at the Quebec City hospital where he was hospitalized. But when the son of a friend was also diagnosed, I figured that this was a great cause to support. That’s when I fully committed to Leucan.
The first time I completed the Challenge in 2004, my son was with me. It’s the perfect way to help children but also to be there for families. While the child is the one diagnosed with leukemia; in reality, the entire family is affected.”
