Leucan Shaved Head Challenge 2023 Regional Campaign

Several options are available to you to participate in the Challenge and join the solidarity movement. Whether it’s with your company, your school, during the regional event organized by Leucan or privately (alone or in a group), choose the option you prefer and take up the Challenge at your convenience. Throughout the region, the Challenge will mobilize dedicated people who will, like you, make the great gesture of solidarity of the Leucan Shaved Head Challenge in order to give hope to families of children with cancer.

Leucan Shaved Head Challenge at Parc du Domaine Vert: Emotions and generosity were on display!

On May 28, 18 courageous participants, most of whom had very long hair, took up the Challenge at the regional event organized by Leucan at Parc du Domaine Vert, Mirabel. They joined dozens of others from the region who have been taking part since the beginning of the year, in schools, businesses and private settings. Together, they raised a total of $139,691 on May 28, 2023, in support of children with cancer and their families, of which nearly $17,000 was raised by participants in the Mirabel Challenge.

Young spokesman Jacob, now in remission, and his father Guillaume had their hair shaved to offer their support to Leucan. Cathy Laroche, honorary president of the 2023 campaign and vice-president of communications, marketing and media for the ALBI le Géant group, was also on hand to encourage participants, having taken up the Challenge herself last year.

Thanks to Parc du Domaine Vert for hosting us again this year on its magnificent outdoor site!

Cathy Laroche acts as honorary president of the 2023 regional campaign!

“I’m Cathy Laroche, Vice-President Communications, Marketing and Media for the ALBI le Géant group. In May 2022, I had the honour and pleasure of organizing a Leucan Shaved Head Challenge with my team, in which I was also a participant. Following the success of our event, accepting the role of honorary president of the Leucan Shaved Head Challenge is an obvious choice for me, and a way of supporting the cause on a larger scale.

As a mom, I know how lucky I am to have a healthy child. To all you dear children and families battling cancer, know that you are not alone. Let’s unite to make a difference, because together, anything is possible.”

Jacob, young spokesperson, invites you to take part in the Challenge!

“My whole life changed when I learned that I had a disease called leukemia. Obviously, as I was only three, I didn’t really understand what it meant, but I spent a lot of time in hospital. Mom and Dad were always with me to help and encourage me, because the whole thing scared me.

Even they needed a lot of help during my illness and they were very grateful that Leucan helped them. Thanks to Leucan, I’ve been able to do a lot of activities like apple picking and hotel activities. To help us, Leucan organizes the Leucan Shaved Head Challenge to raise money to help me and families like mine. Please take part in the Challenge with my dad to offer help and happiness to people who need it!”
